Things To See in Madrid |
Madrid is absolutely full of wondrous things to see, the list seems endless. Take some time to see some of the fantastic buildings in the center of Madrid such as the Royal Palace, the Cibeles Palace as well as the incredible 4 Tower Buildings on the Castellana such as the Bankia Tower, the largest building in all of Madrid and Spain. You will be amazed by the abundance of things to see in Madrid. Here is a route that will keep you very busy snapping shots with the camera, as you enter Madrid from the east the Puerta de Alcalá beckons and right next to the Puerta de Alcalá is the beautiful Retiro Park which houses the outstanding Palacio de Cristal and Velazquez Palace and is full of excellent scenery, with stunning greenery trees, all kinds of plants and fountains, truly a very worthwhile visit for those memorable photos of nature and tranquility. From here you can take a leisurely stroll down to down to the Plaza de Cibeles, here you can savor where Real Madrid celebrate their greatest victories in the Spanish premier league and cups etc. while taking in the splendor of the surrounding buildings such as the Cibeles Palace building and the Bank of España. Not far away from Banco de Epaña going west along the Calle de Alcalá you will arrive at the Puerta de Sol the stunning center of Madrid which is approximately 13 minutes’ walk from Cibeles, here you can photograph the main symbol of Madrid, the statue of the Oso y el Madroño and the Central clock of Sol which is used throughout Spain as the focal point to celebrate New Year’s day. Very close to Puerto de Sol is the Plaza Mayor, a beautiful tranquil square with a very varied and interesting past throughout the years. |

The Almudena Cathedral is and incredible building which sees the marriages of Spanish royalty. This beautiful and impressive church is also right next to the Royal Palace of Madrid, another must see for taking photos and enjoying some of the real splendor that only Madrid has to offer. You will easily use up a day with all these things to see, as well as being surrounded by the many bars, restaurants and cafes on offer throughout your walk, this route is very highly recommended and a great way to enjoy the sunshine in the spring and summer months.
