All about Madrid

Madrid is full of terrific parks and beautiful gardens where you can relax, cycle, skateboard or simply walk around. One of the most famous parks is the Retiro Park or “Parque de Retiro”, one of the largest parks in Madrid, was handed over for public use from the Monarchy in the late 19th century. The park measures some 1,180,000 square meters or 118 hectares and is incorporates beautiful trees, plants, wildlife as well as large manmade boating lake as and the Palacio de Cristal (Crystal Palace). The park is ideal to stroll around in the beautiful sunshine and enjoy the tranquility and inspirational scenery.

The Parque Europa, (European Park) to the East of Madrid is an incredible park at a size of around 240,000 square meters or 24 Hectares and ideal for leisure, relaxation and entertainment. The park has many beautiful gardens as well as 17 replicas of European monuments such as the London Tower Bridge as well as an original fragment from the Berlin Wall the Brussels Atomium and even a Viking Boat and the Plaza España. You can see wild animals and bird shows as well as do some archery, visit the farm (La Granja) or play mini golf or participate in the multi adventure area. There is just so many things here for everyone, Families, Couples, Singles and Kids.

Near the district of Barajas, again to the East of Madrid, can be found El Parque de El Capricho, this park has an area of around 14 hectares or 140,000 square meters, complete with ponds, streams a maze, beautiful statues and fountains, a great place to go for a walk or relaxing jog.
